Maria Stinger
Maria Stinger, a luscious and curvaceous knockout, was the quintessential pin-up model of the 1950s. Her striking resemblance to the legendary Marilyn Monroe left jaws dropped and hearts racing. Born out of wedlock in 1931 in the bustling city of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Maria's father was a Anglo-Irish policeman.
In October of 1948, she packed her bags and headed south to Miami, Florida, where she would meet her future husband, the Harry Walter Stinger, in 1949. They tied the knot later that same year, and Maria's star was on the rise.
It wasn't long before she caught the attention of the noted glamour photographer Bunny Yeager, who had been tipped off by fellow photographer Bill Hamilton. Maria went on to make history as Yeager's very first model, gracing the cover of "Eye - People and Pictures" magazine in March of 1954.
With her intoxicating beauty, Maria quickly became a sought-after model in the men's magazine circuit, posing for the likes of "Caper," "Gala," "Glance," and "Rogue." In October of 1954, she was crowned Miami's very own Marilyn Monroe in a beauty contest sponsored by "The Miami Herald," and she also dazzled audiences in the Miss Florida beauty pageant around the same time.
But Maria didn't stop there. She pushed the boundaries of her art and posed for the legendary fetish photographer Irving Klaw in late 1954, stunning fans with her daring and provocative bondage-style pictures.
Through the swinging sixties, Maria continued to enthrall audiences with her tantalizing performances in numerous nudie cutie soft-core features. She was a true icon of the 1950s and a timeless symbol of beauty and sensuality.
